Miriam Tortajada, PhD

Cognitive Neuroscience

University of Murcia

Hi! I’m Miriam Tortajada, currently an early career researcher at the University of Murcia (UMU). My current research is focused on understanding how mental representations are shaped by our semantic expectations, and how this influences the way we perceive and remember them.

Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Granada, working on the CONNECTS project, with which I remain actively involved. I got my PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from UMU, where I studied various aspects of Working Memory, especially how information is removed or deprioritized. During this time, I have learned about EEG analysis (MVPA and oscillations). I really enjoy data analysis and I’m always open to working on projects that require thinking about or learning new methods.

I’ve also collaborated in several works related to different attentional states, such as vigilance or mind-wandering. And I’m also very enthusiastic about open science and implementing research practices that could improve the reproducibility of our research.
